Fates Warning enters worldwide charts for new DVD/Blu-ray, ‘Awaken the Guardian Live’

Fates Warning recently released their new DVD/Blu-ray, Awaken the Guardian Live, via Metal Blade Records; for their efforts, the band has now entered the worldwide charts! See below for all positions:

#15 Current Hard Music Albums (USA)
#48 Independent Current Albums (USA)
#195 Top Current Albums (USA)
#21 Top Albums (Germany)

Legendary progressive metal act Fates Warning celebrated the 30th anniversary of their third album, Awaken the Guardian, in 2016. To celebrate this milestone, Jim Matheos (guitar) reassembled the Awaken the Guardian-era lineup for two special festival appearances last year: Keep it True XIX and Prog Power USA XVII. Fortunately for fans that were not able to attend, each show was filmed and recorded in its entirety for the DVD/Blu-ray, Awaken the Guardian Live. Awaken the Guardian vocalist John Arch comments: “It was truly a surreal experience being able to share the spirit of ‘Awaken The Guardian‘ at these shows. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the fans that have given back so much over the 30 year span since the album’s release. To all our family and friends, much gratitude.”

Thanks for releasing this awesome live performance on bluesy. It’s simply a stunning performance! John’s vocals are as strong as ever and the band is tight. Great job from a great band.

Outstanding! No other word for it. I have been a Fates Warning fan since I first heard of them around 1984. I was in high school, and was amazed then, and I’m amazed now. I tried to get tickets for Prog Power, but they sold out so fast. Me and some friends were willing to drive the 900 miles from Michigan to Atlanta to see the band. This Blueray is not as good as being there, but on my 60″ Hd TV and cranking up my 750 Watt Yamaha surround sound system it’s not bad!! John Arch, you’re a true gentleman, and a vocal legend. Outstanding performances at both events by you and the whole band. Nobody else has the sound you had and have. I can only hope you decide to do more shows like this. In the meantime, I’ll keep enjoying this outstanding capture of your performances. Too bad better quality recordings don’t exist from AWTG original shows. Thanks for all of your wonderful and inspiring music. You have been given an amazing gift, and so glad you shared it!!
