Do you need to get a package to meet the band? Or do they hang out after for meet and greet? I have never seen Fates Warning before. I am pumped!! I only care to see them and not Queensryche.

I saw Fates in Worcester, Mass this past Sunday. On the way to a nearby bar to pregame, I spotted Ray outside the tour bus. I walked over, asked if I could get a quick picture with him, and he was more than willing. Had a brief chat and I found him to be a very friendly guy, which I thought was really cool. They are at the top of my list of favorite bands, given that their songs are well crafted, with great lyrics and what I consider to be genius musical composition and arrangements. The show was great, but I wish they had more than 45 minutes on stage. Too many songs that could have been played, but not enough time to do so. If you’re not familiar with Mike Abdow, pay close attention; he is a gifted musician and a great addition to the band. I can’t say enough good things about these guys, and I appreciate how they are true to the music and don’t seem to be preoccupied with popularity. At the end of the set, Ray announced a new album in 2020, making me wish I had a time machine…Check out the last two three albums (including Live Over Europe) if you haven’t already – pure musical bliss.

Anyone knows the tracks being played on this tour with Queensryche?

  16. Bethany March 17, 2019 at 6:54 am - Reply

Was at the show last night in Medina. Thank you thank you thank you for the great performance. It’s clear you guys actually still care about the music and putting on a good show. Nothing against QR, as I used to be a big fan of theirs as well, but I felt like you guys blew them out of the water and you’ve always deserved more credit than you’ve received all these years. Did I say thank you yet? 😉 I’ve now been lucky enough to see you twice because you are one of the few bands I’ll drive hours to go see these says (last time was 2001). I feel greedy in saying I hope to see you again someday and hope it’s not another 17 years. 😉 Much love…

My band opened up for Fates Warning and Queenryche on two separate dates back in ’97 in Salt Lake City. Now I get to take my grandson to see them both in Las Vegas! How cool is that?

Just saw FW in Albuquerque. Been a fan for decades but never had the opportunity to see them. They absolutely rocked! The band was solid and full of punch and precision! Ray brought good energy and though he wasn’t hitting the highs the notes he did hit were solid, confident and powerful. I am so glad you visited us in NM! Thank you! We are lucky to have been visited by one of the best prog metal bands in History!
